A Long-Term Solution for Missing Teeth

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are one of the most effective ways to replace missing teeth.

Designed to look, feel and function just like a natural tooth, they can restore your confidence to eat, smile and speak comfortably again.

An implant is a small titanium post that's gently placed into the jawbone, where it acts as a replacement tooth root. Over time, it naturally bonds with the bone, creating a strong foundation for a custom-made crown, bridge or denture.

As well as restoring your smile, dental implants help preserve the health and structure of your jaw by supporting the surrounding bone and reducing bone loss over time.

Benefits of Dental Implants

The Process

What to expect

1. Consultation & Treatment Planning

Your journey begins with a comprehensive consultation. We'll assess your oral health, discuss your treatment goals and carry out any necessary investigations, including a 3D CBCT scan and digital intraoral scan, to carefully plan your implant treatment with precision.

2. Implant Placement

Once your treatment plan is complete, your implant will be placed under local anaesthetic, with IV or inhalation sedation available if required. Every procedure is carefully planned using advanced digital imaging to ensure accurate implant placement.

3. Healing & Osseointegration

Over the next 3 to 6 months, the implant naturally bonds with your jawbone through a process called osseointegration, creating a strong and stable foundation for your new tooth. We'll monitor your healing throughout this period to ensure everything is progressing as expected.

4. Your New Smile

Once healing is complete, we'll fit your custom-made abutment and final crown, carefully designed to match the shape, colour and function of your natural teeth. The result is a secure, natural-looking restoration that allows you to smile, eat and speak with confidence.

FAQs

Most healthy adults are suitable candidates for dental implants. During your consultation, we’ll assess your oral health, medical history and bone levels using advanced imaging to determine the most appropriate treatment for you.

Implants are placed under local anaesthetic, and sedation is available for patients who feel anxious. Most patients report that the procedure is more comfortable than they expected.

Treatment varies depending on your individual case. In many cases, the implant is left to heal for 3 to 6 months before the final crown is fitted. Some patients may be suitable for immediate implant placement or temporary teeth on the same day.

With good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups, dental implants can last for many years and, in many cases, a lifetime.
